Mosquitoes Are Driving Me Crazy!

We are finally getting a break from the rain. After 2 weeks of raining the sun is starting to shine again. Now we have to deal with the mosquitoes. They are huge! I guess they were not kidding when they said everything is bigger in Texas. What is driving me nuts about them is that every time I go outside it seems like 5 or 6 of them want to be my friend. Buzzing and flying around trying to get my attention and then suck my life's blood. Stand down buggies! I don't want your friendship!

The most annoying part of mosquitoes is the buzzing sound they make. My arms instantly turn into wild monkey arms as I swing them around trying to get them away from me. My daughter reminded me that when mosquitoes make a buzzing sound they are in love and are trying to harmonize with me.

Have you ever noticed that life is like those annoying mosquitoes? Small annoying things buzzing around trying to get your attention? The kids need to go to practice, dinner needs to be made, the clothes need to be washed, the yard needs to be mowed, the list goes on and on. At times it can be overwhelming! Maybe life's little mosquitoes are just trying to be in harmony with us. Maybe they are the small reminders that we need to solve a problem, fix a relationship, or just wash some clothes.

When you are feeling overwhelmed with the everyday routine of chores, school and life how do you cope?

Labor on Labor Day

Yesterday day was labor day in the U.S.
This is the day when workers are to receive a day of rest in honor of their hard work and contribution that they have made to the U.S. society.
According to the Department of Labor website the national holiday was created over 100 years ago on September 5, 1882 in New York City.

What a great concept of honoring those that work hard!

However, it seems that Kingsville Independent School District (KISD), school board does not appreciate the hard work of their teachers and staff. The entire school district was open on labor day.

What kind of message does this send to the workers of the school district? You've guess it. The school board does not care about their workers.  The message to KISD workers are loud and clear. When this happens you can expect moral to go down from all of the employees and this will have a great impact on the children that attend the district.

Parents, if your child is in in a public school and you want certain things to change or have an idea to improve your child's school then it is recommend  that you attend your local school board meetings. This is just the first step into getting involved and making sure that your child is being educate in a manner that you think is best. Don't leave it up to "Daddy Government" to take care of your child's education. Step up and take some action!
