Not on the Agenda-Last blog post for blogging Everyday in June.

The following is my answer about God. This is just my opinion and nothing more. I am not trying to convince anyone of what I believe. This is my take on life and that is it.

Sunday, 9:15 a.m. April 21, 2013
This is the second week in a row that church was not going to be on the agenda for today. This is not like me but for one reason or another there are plenty of excuses for me to stay home. In reality I'm angry at God.
Having one child  was enough for us 9 years ago but something changed in my heart this year. Maybe the realization of turning 35 this year was starting to sink in or maybe the fact that my daughter would be leaving us in about 10 years was starting to overwhelm me. Whatever it was, this year we decided a second child would make our family complete.

At the end of February we found out that I was pregnant. Of course you may notice how the past tense phrase was used.

At 6 weeks into the pregnancy I miscarried.

Since finding out that day about the miscarriage guilt and sadness have been a constant friend.

Positive Outlook Time!

Today's post is about the power of being positive. When you receive negative criticism about something how do you handle it? For me negative criticism is a reminder that there is something that could be done in a better way.

Last year I posted a video about a drug raid in Kingsville. One person actually made a comment on it via Facebook. He told me that it was silly to post a video like that.

"Too many people hear a noise and have to go see what it is."

Yes, that is true and your point?

My first reaction to this comment was not pretty. I responded very nasty by telling the guy something like "What else am I going to do with this useless communication degree?" When relaying this to my husband he reminded me that the guy just watched the video and felt the need to comment on it. So really it was a win for the video that was posted.

An impact was made and that was the purpose of the video.

Just a quick not about Sunday

nextgencounseling.com
For those of you who don't know it was decided that this blog would post something everyday this month. Yesterday this was not accomplished.  Sunday was a busy day and this blog did not cross my mind.

What was learned by not posting something is that a plan needs to be made in order for things to happen. We need to live life with a plan. Maybe this is why life coaches are so popular right now in America. Life coaches plan your life for you.

To me the best life coach is our Lord, Jesus Christ. His message is in the bible and He always guides us on how to live the best possible life.

SPAM mail or a can of SPAM. Which do you prefer?

Do you ever respond to SPAM mail just to see what it is about? Every once in awhile this will happen to me and I MUST click on the link just to see what it is about. Really,  how good is their marketing strategy towards me. Did the spammer do it's homework? Most of the time they do not.

Today however was different. A really good SPAM message was sent to me via Facebook. It was an actual person (or maybe a robot it was that good) who told me that they went to this page and saw how bare it was with comments, likes and overall public interest in this site. Then I got to thinking. Yes, that is true. You are so right. How can this be changed? The answer as you may have already guessed is by going to a website and purchasing a kit that will instantly get you more than 100 like on Facebook and grow your online business.

Of course a really good spammer like this got me to thinking about this blog page. What is the purpose of this blog. Once again it is as simple as I have stated a couple of days ago. This blog is just one of many view point about life in South Texas. It is nothing more than that. If by chance more people happen to find this page and follow it that would be great!

However, this site is NOT a business. It is just a simple blog about my views on life in South Texas and that is it.

Facebook Friends. Real or Fake?

Does this ever happen to you on Facebook? You have a "friend" via Facebook and you make a generic comment like "Happy Birthday, Congratulations, or that is great!" and then your comment gets deleted by them.

How does it make you feel?

For me Facebook is a way to keep in contact with all of my former co-workers, college buddies, high school buddies, acquaintances and family members. Everyone on my Facebook I know them from the “real” world. Perhaps this is the problem with the way Facebook and other social media sites are used. You may know the person but are not really friends with them in “real” life.

In my mind there is no doubt that social media is changing the way we interact with each other. The question that arises is how should we interact with a Facebook “friend” in public if they don’t want to interact with you on Facebook?

Please leave me your answers below in the comment form and I will try to respond to every one of them.

Summer time always reminds me of the students who go on mission trips. Below are 2 videos that I made in the summer of 2011.

Dear Public Diary

Dear public diary today was....
This is what came to my mind today when this post was being written. Recently a co-worker of mine asked me why anyone would blog?  "It's just a public dairy!"

So that got me to thinking. Why would anyone (i.e. me) blog? To me a blog is just one's personal reflection on life. The blog could be about books, clothes, movies, dogs, cats or anything else. It's just a personal perspective on life and that is it.

Kind of like "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" which you have to read because the books are too funny and so true about life!

Until tomorrow,
:)

Still Blogging Everyday in June

Today is day 17 into my personal challenge of blogging everyday in June. As you may have noticed the question about God is still not answered on today's post. It is my hope to show evidence that support He does exist even if you can't see him in a physical form.

Father's Day

On yesterday's blog I asked this question. Is there a God and how can we know he is working in our lives?
After doing a little bit of research about this it has been decided that more time would be needed to better prepare the answer.

In the meantime I want to say HAPPY FATHERS DAY to all of the Fathers out there! YOU ROCK!

Change my Heart

"Change my heart oh God, open up inside I want to feel YOUR glory, moving in my life..."
This is one of lyrics to a new song that was introduced to us during Vacation Bible School for our children at the church we attend.
It is amazing to me how simple the song is for children and yet as an adult it expresses the exact thing that we as Christians believe.

We want to feel His glory moving in our life.

While we want God to move in our life this simple phrase actually presents itself a bigger question. Is there a God and how can we know He is working in our lives?

See my research about this topic in my next blog post.

Colossal Coaster World

Right before going to bed is not the time to be thinking about one's blog but that is what happened to me tonight.

This week has been a very productive week in video editing. I have been able to work on a mini Vacation Bible School (VBS) video everyday this week. It is a shame that none of the videos can be upload to my personal account but there may be some video posted later on our church's website.

In Memory Of...

There is no escaping death.
It comes to us all.
and yet, we live as if we have control over it all.
Grace come from Him and Him alone...
Why do we feel so alone?

These words came to me after finding out that my former boss and professor, Dr. Carl Saltarelli had passed away from an aggressive form of brain cancer. In memory of him I have posted two of my favorite videos that I created for The American Cancer Society-Relay For Life.

Blogging everyday will be a challenge for me this week since our church is starting our vacation bible school (VBS) program this week. As you can see I have be re-posting some old things that did not get a lot of traffic the first time.

What Time Is It?

Blogging everyday is getting to be really hard.
At first I told myself that something should be ready to go by 8 a.m. but now I just try to push out something just to have it posted. It feels like a news deadline but with less expectations'.

My hubby suggested that I should recycle an older blog post and post it again. What do you think? Should I do what he suggested? Let me know in the comments below.

Out Of Place?

Have you ever felt like you were out of place? This seems to be my attitude when it comes to creating this blog. It seems that almost every women blogger out there is about fashion or creative photography. The question that keeps coming to my mind is maybe this should be the focus of this blog. Alas, this could not happen because reporting about real events and situations makes me the happiest.

So tell me about you? What makes you the happiest?

Post your comments below.

How do you react to news like this?

What is wrong with some people? Really?
I just found out today that one of our young local doctors was murdered at a fast food restaurant. He was only 25 years old.
My heart goes out to his family.

Hour by Hour

The original intent of this blog post was to take one picture every hour to document what we were doing during the day. Of course I should have known this was not something that could be remotely possible for me because of the busyness of the day.  As you can see I am NOT a professional photographer but I enjoyed doing this.

The best things about this project was it reminded me to enjoy the moment and to remember that everyday is a gift from God.

Day 2

In March we went to Washington D.C. and I said that pictures and videos would be posted soon. Due to some unexpected medical issues I delayed on doing this.
I was able to post them on my facebook page instead so check it out the Country Bumpkin Reporter facebook page if you have a chance.

Also, some of the video that we took from that trip was made into a Memorial Day video for our U.S. soldiers.
I am not sure what Day 3 of blogging will bring but let's hope it will be better than this post.

Blog Everyday in June

This month I will attempt to blog everyday in June. My niece did this on her blog on XOXO Aurora in May and I loved it so much that I decided to copy her.
Let's see what tomorrow will bring.
